Therapy for Interracial and Intercultural Couples

In a world of disconnect, find true connection.

Healing is possible.

You may be feeling misunderstood, frustrated, and unable to communicate with the person closest to you due to differences in your culture and way of seeing the world. Most relationships and marriages, in our day and age, are intercultural since few people come from the exact same family background. However, when you and your partner are from different cultures across the globe or country, it can be very challenging to navigate.

You might be feeling your partner does not understand how you walk through the world and the difficulties that come with that. You may feel alone in dealing with racism, prejudice, or other people’s opinions of your life and relationship. This can make it very difficult to feel close to your partner and that they really understand you.

“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive to its destination full of hope.” - Maya Angelou

How I Can Help

Therapy for interracial and intercultural couples can help bridge the gap in communication to help you understand one another in the context of each person’s culture and experiences. I help you to develop more compassion for one another and share with your partner about impactful experiences.

I have worked extensively with people from all walks of life and backgrounds during the 12 years of being a therapist and exclusively with couples and families for the past 4 years. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy which is one of the most researched and effective forms of couples therapy in existence.
