Hallie Msongamwanja, LPC, LCPC
Congrats on the brave choice you have made to reach out for help! I have a passion for helping people find healing and connection in their lives and relationships. You might be looking for a therapist who seeks to understand you, be with you in hard things, and help you to move from where you are to where you want to be. Well, you have come to the right place! I offer a safe, judgment-free place for you to lay aside your image and come have a real in depth conversation about whatever may be bothering you.
My counseling style is warm, engaging, and interactive. I believe in treating every person with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines client centered treatment while also often utilizing emotionally focused therapy, narrative therapy, and cognitive-behavioral counseling approaches. This is a fancy way to say that I am knowledgeable in a wide range of therapy practices and modalities.
I have seen and know the pain of disconnection and the toll it takes on you, your relationship, and family. Big emotions are often prevalent: shame, loneliness, pain, and sadness among others. These are hard to manage and navigate on your own. This is part of why I became a therapist. I know how powerful it can be to have someone sit with you in your most painful place and it is an honor to be able to journey with individuals and couples to help them find healing.
Since so much of the hurt in our lives happens within relationships, I believe healing must happen within the context of relationship: relationship with self, relationship with therapist, and/or relationship with others. I offer a safe environment for you to face the issues you'd like to address and heal from the things that are holding you back. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, infertility, or grief and loss, we can work together to facilitate change in your life.

I love to travel and have been to places around the globe including living for 6 months in Kenya and Tanzania.
My husband is from Tanzania, Africa and that is where my long and unique last name comes from.
I moved to Oklahoma in 2014 when I started working full time as a therapist, however, I am originally from Kansas. I still consider myself a Kansan, and root for Kansas sport teams regularly (Rock Chalk Jayhawk, KC Chiefs, KC Royals).
I grew up playing competitive sports and played softball all the way through college and even coached at MNU while I was getting my Master’s degree. I still love to watch collegiate softball in my free time.
