Trauma therapy helps you work through traumatic events that have happened in your life that are impacting you, your relationships, and ability to function. You may be feeling shame and guilt around what has happened to you making it hard to trust yourself, other people, or the world around you. Frequent flashbacks, memories, or thoughts may be making it hard to focus on things or enjoy things you usually do. When these things come up, you may feel the full weight of emotions like sadness, loss, and anger to name a few.

How I Can Help
In our work together, I help you shift the way you think and what you believe about what has happened to bring more peace and enjoyment in your life. Trauma therapy helps to lessen the painful emotions like shame and guilt that may have you feeling stuck. I also help you learn how to manage your emotions in a way that is more helpful for you and others.
I am informed in Eye Movement De-sensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Written Exposure Therapy. These are types of therapies used to help people who have survived trauma. All of these therapies have a large amount of data to back up how effective they are in helping people. For the last 12 years I have worked with clients dealing with trauma and helped them find healing and create more meaningful lives.
